Roll up! Roll up! Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and girls! Step right this way! Look to the skies and witness one of the most sensational sights you have ever seen! With all the burlesque of the Victorian sideshow, Josh Elwell and Company presents a vibrant and enchanting piece of visual theatre for families and children from 5 years upwards. The show combines beautiful hand crafted puppets with clowning and live music. A show that will charm the whole family, young and old. Based on the true story of one of our own ancestors - Irma Orbasany. Bird in the Hand’ is set in the miraculous ‘lime light’ world of the Victorian Circus and is. Irma is rescued from destitution by a young circus musician. They set sail across the seas with 'The Barnum & Bailey’s Circus' and together they become one of the greatest acts of the age... 'Irma Orbasany and her performing Cockatoos!' This exciting new production by Josh Elwell & Company will include live music by Jeremy Avis from 'The Shout' & AskewsandAvis and hand carved puppets by Rebecca Elwell.
