With all the burlesque of the Victorian sideshow, Josh Elwell and Company presents a vibrant and enchanting piece of visual theatre for families and children from 5 years upwards. The show combines beautiful hand crafted puppets with clowning and live music. A show that will charm the whole family, young and old.

Based on the true story of one of our own ancestors - Irma Orbasany. Bird in the Hand’ is set in the miraculous ‘lime light’ world of the Victorian Circus and is. Irma is rescued from destitution by a young circus musician. They set sail across the seas with 'The Barnum & Bailey’s Circus' and together they become one of the greatest acts of the age...

This exciting new production by Josh Elwell & Company will include live music by Jeremy Avis from 'The Shout' & AskewsandAvis and hand carved puppets by Rebecca Elwell. The show is directed by acclaimed puppeteer Martin Bridle from 'Hand to Mouth'.
